A popular figure among the young generation, Dr. Mirza Galib, Assistant Professor at Howard University in the United States, is also a former president of the Islamic Chhatra Shibir unit at Dhaka University.
On Monday morning, from his verified Facebook account, he praised the DU Shibir panel’s VP candidate Sadiq Kaye, GS candidate S. M. Farhad, and AGS candidate Mohiuddin Khan. The post is presented here for readers:
Sadiq, Farhad, and Mohiuddin — these three young men have now secured their place from campus to the streets, from discussions to dreams.
Through long years of study circles, workshops, and seminars, they have built a foundation of knowledge, a storehouse of experience, and the solid base of courageous leadership.
In the tumultuous days of July, their determination, far-sighted planning, and extraordinary courage transformed a nationwide movement into the path of creating new history. Alongside Nahid, Asif, Hasnat, and Sarjis, Sadiq, Farhad, Jonaid, and Rifat led the people’s protest movement shoulder to shoulder. People, regardless of political affiliation, came out to the streets—united in the demand for Hasina’s resignation.
Sadiq’s strength lies in his coordination and management skills. Even in moments of pressure, he knows how to lead. Farhad, a sharp debater, has impressed everyone with his clear and straightforward thinking. On the other hand, Mohiuddin’s personality reflects a rare blend of simplicity and brilliance.
Their major success in the DUCSU election has been inclusivity. From including students outside of Shibir in their panel to visiting their rival Meghmallar in the hospital—their campaign demonstrated examples of broad-minded leadership. Throughout the election campaign, they reached out to students with a smile, carrying a message of unity.
This generosity, competence, and constructive vision are laying the foundation for Bangladesh 2.0. Best wishes to these young leaders in tomorrow’s election. May their love for the country and sense of responsibility make them even stronger and more accomplished.
